Thinking of setting up a gun ust for turkey hunting. I was thinking about a 12 gauge 870 with a stedi grip type stock. Any recomendations on gun/choke/load combos?
Something in the range of a nice 3.5 inch #4 or # 5 shot is what I used to use. I have also used "duplex" loads where some of the shot was #4 and it also had some #6 on top of it... wicked stuff.
Hastings 640 choke and a good set of rifle sights. This is the combo I use. At close distances, you better make sure you are dead on with the 640 choke, thats why I like the rifle sights.
