Turkey Hunting Nebraska

This will be my first year turkey hunting nebraska and I have to be honest! I wasn't too excited moving to Nebraska from Iowa but had to keep the wife happy. Yet I started doing my research and realized I get to buy three tags instead of two (awesome), go antelope hunting and go mule deer hunting!!

My plan is to go up by Merritt Res by Valentine to go turkey hunting. My reason for doing so is because I think I will be going there in the fall to go antelope hunting a long with mule deer hunting. So I will be killing serveral birds with one stone. I wanted to go up there to do some scouting for antelope and mule deer hunting. So I figured I would make a turkey hunt out of it in the spring.

My question is has anyone hunted in that area for turkeys and do you have any suggestions.

Thanks for any help!!!

I hunted right by valentine last year with 4 other guys and we all got birds. They are also a lot of nice meriums their but you will find some dirty birds in that area. As far as deer I seen a lot but didn't pay much attention to sing as I didn't plan on going deer hunting their.

but you will find some dirty birds in that area
:confused::confused: If you are speaking of our hybreds, I sure wouldn't call them that. They should be part of the grand slam and maybe will be some day. They are beautiful, smart birds and deserving of respect.:way:;)

For the original question....I've not hunted there but there are lots of birds. You shouldn't have any trouble filling a tag.
