Turkey Seasons????

Ok, I have gotten through the fear of being chastized for not knowing and probably breaking a man law for not knowing, but I have to ask, what are the dates for all of the seasons this spring? I haven't gone out for 2 years now and may not get out this spring, (coaching my daughter in an ASA league)but if I know the dates for all of the seasons I may make it out. I have searched the IA DNR site and can't find any thing. A little help would be appreciated.

Spring 2008 Youth Turkey
(Residents under age 16) April 11 - 13

Spring 2008 Turkey (Gun/Bow)
April 14 - 17 or
April 18 - 22 or
April 23 - 29 or
April 30 - May 18

Spring 2008 Turkey (Bow Only)
April 14 - May 18
 
Along those same lines, if I buy a first season tag and a fourth season tag but don't fill the first season tag can I buy a second season tag? If I don't fill the second season tag can I buy a third season tag?

I'm just tryin to figure out my schedule and which seasons to try.

I don't think so. You can only buy two tags as far as I know. If you don't fill the first season tag you're SOL until fourth.

yep!

you can only buy two tags, if you dont fill them you are done!

maybe if we get some bad weather they will extend the season for us!

Bonk, I used to get 3rd and 4th gun tags back in high school, it maximized the amount of weekends that I could hunt.

Yeah, thats what my orginal plan was, but I have a day off first season and a day off second season so I was just wonerin.

Yes, I took this off of the Iowa DNR website.

How Many Turkey Licenses May I Have?
A resident hunter may obtain a maximum of
two spring turkey hunting licenses: Two combination
gun/bow licenses, or two archery-only licenses, or one
combination gun/bow license and one archery-only
license. One of these licenses may be a Landowner-
Tenant License, if the hunter is eligible.
If two licenses are obtained, at least one must be
for Season 4. If no licenses are obtained in Seasons
1, 2 or 3, the hunter may purchase two [2] licenses for
Season 4.

Thanks, </div></div>Know how you feel Deeraddic. I am one of the coaches on my sons USSSA baseball team and have been looking back and forth at our dates to see when we can get out,with my focus on getting him his first bird and me trying after. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

I figured I'd buy 3rd and 4th season gun/bow tags. I think this is legal?

If you have the bow tag first, you would be able to hunt that odd day or two with the bow during 1st or 2nd season as well. They are good for any season.
