Turkey Success

What a great week! I took my oldest son Jacob out for the youth season and we finally scored on a really nice Tom last Sunday. I dont know what he weighed but with a 9-3/4" beard and 3/4" and 7/8" spurs we were on cloud 9. After that I had the week off to hunt 1st season and scored on this guy wed evening. Not near as big as my boys but he had a 8-1/2" beard and 3/4" spurs. This was Jacobs first turkey and he's hunted three years now. It was a fine Day to say the least. My youngest son has been hunting second season and we have seen nothing but hens, we will try again tonight. With any luck we will score a triple.

Nice work, fellas!!! Glad to see the father/son duos out and about ... definitely some memories to be had there ... best of luck on the triple!

Well we didn't get the triple but Jason did find a nice 3 point shed while we were out and that seemed to suit him fine. He did thank me for taking him hunting and I told him we'll get one next time. He's cool with that. Today is his 10th birthday and we won't get to hunt tonite. Even though if it was up to me we would go anyway. Oh well, theres always 4th season.
