Turkey Tail Mounting Options

I know there has to be a hundred differnt mounting plaques for turkeys out there. What are your favorites? Do you have any pics? I want to do something special with the tail my wife just shot on Saturday since it will be her first real "mount" of anything she's hunted. I've got 15 different taxidermy catalogs with all kinds of tail mounting plaques but I want to find something unique. You guys have any ideas? Anybody do anything custom that you know about? Moosehunter I've seen your woodworking skills...do you have any suggestions? Thanks.

One of the coolest mounts I've seen that didn't involve a full body was a tail fan and the back feathers all the way up to where the base of the neck. The wings were displayed off to the sides still attached and fanned out. The legs/spurs/beard was hanging underneath on the wooden base. Sorry, no picture unless someone in the Jackson county (Iowa) area would go into the County Conservation office in Maquoketa and take a picture for ya.

Thanks Muddy - can't do that one...all of those parts you speak of excluding the tail, beard, spurs, and wings are in the trash.

That does sound pretty sweet though.

The what?

My bears? If you mean my bears from AK of course I kept them...this is the first mount for my WIFE...not me...I've got 3/4 of a house full of my own stuff...this is her first mount. I do some kind of mount out of nearly every single thing I shoot.

Anyone with any cool turkey tail mounts?
