I have seen that a few times in the spring with Toms battling it out. This one time I watched two go at it for over 45 minutes locked up just like that.
I have seen a couple of good fights over the years, fun stuff to watch. My favorite involved both toms seeing each other from about 300 yards away and power strutting their way over to each other where the fight began. Picture a half run, half strut at high speed, stopping only to gobble at each other a couple of times, it was fairly comical.
On a shed hunting trip to Ill. one year had two toms fighting like that. I wanted to see how close i could get to get a picture and they let me get as close as i wanted ha ha. I was standing only 5 feet from them. It was a cool thing to witness. I have some cool pics put they are printed out and not on a memory card or computer any more...
I had never seen that until this fall. Like Liv said, it lasted dang near an hour. Looked like they were stuck together at the neck going back and forth. Ran into a fence at one point. It was fun to watch...they were out in the middle of the bean field about 75 yards from where I was sitting. Cool pic!
