I was just curious is anyone else here has ever taken a wild turkey that was missing one or more toes?
I got my fall turkey Saturday out in central Nebraska. It was a nice three-years old with a 10" beard and 1 1/8" spurs. The unusual thing about this gobbler is that on one foot, he had lost two of his toes at first knuckle (to frostbite, I suppose)and they had head over as nubs. Somehow he managed to overcome the injury and live a long as he did.
Has anyone else harvested a bird with a bird that had recovered from a similar injury to his foot?
