Turnips in corn?

I planted a corn patch this spring with my 2 row planter. Everything went good and I was excited to get back and see how well it was coming up. When I got back to see the field I figured out that the chain must have came off the sprocket on one side of the planter and I got 2 rows planted and then 2 row gaps. Luckily I am set up on 30 inch rows and I have a 5 foot drill. I know it is early for tunips but I figured with corn growing everyday they will get blocked out pretty soon. So I decided to drill turnips between the rows. Has anyone tried this? I am anxious to see how it turns out.

They'll grow... keep us posted on how they do for you though, maybe you'll have some massive turnips! Mid to late July is ideal time frame to plant turnips so they don't mature and rot before hunting season. You are early but I will be interesting how they turn out. Corn looks good!

Will the turnips get enough sun as soon as the corn gets taller?

Is your corn RR? Will it hurt the turnips?

Apart from the gaps, that is a nice looking field! Congrats!

If you haven't already gone in with the turnips, what about beans in the open gaps?
