My god John where is this farm of your's that grows these rejects? I want to make sure I don't go anywhere near there.

Nice Picture!

Not to steal this thread, but I have a question. I have 2 or 3 pictures of deer like this, and am wondering will the short side ever grow? Do you think that got broken? Or what do you do with a buck like this? I have two deer that look just like this, young deer but will they ever grow to decent bucks?

I am hoping to start managing bucks on a couple of new sections, and am just wondering if most people let all bucks walk or are you better to burn a tag on a buck with little to no potential?

Thanks for the help!

To answer the questions, I think this buck had an accident and most likely next year his rack will recover (barring any real bodily injury that might have occurred).

As to culling bucks, I think that more time and effort should be expended on getting the buck:doe ratio more in line. If the ratio is right, inferior bucks won't have much of a chance to breed. Also, make sure the nutrition is there. Finally, cull mature bucks that have antler traits you don't like.
