Urban Antlerless Season

Urban antlerless season starts this weekend. This will be my first time participating the urban hunt. Judging by the amount of does I saw while shed hunting, there truely is an ambundance of deer in the city. How many people have done urban bow hunting in the past or plan to this year and what was your experience (how many does did you take and what was the earliest date you harvested one)?

Keep us posted on how you do during your urban hunt. I live in Des Moines and have thought about hunting in town. I would like to hear what your and everyones opinion is on the urban hunt.

Does anyone know if the urban hunt in Ames got passed? I think they were planning on voting on it this year.

I hunted Jester Park a couple of years ago.Saw more horseback riders and joggers than deer.Interesting experience listening to people partying while up in the tree stand.I would hunt the edges and areas that aren't frequented by park goers.Good luck.

You could get a few does with a lasso here in Coralville. They are not bothered by humans, I have walked up to within 10 yards of does here in the city and they just look at you and keep grazing. Lots of people teaming up to stack up the does in the first few days so they earn a buck tag.
