Velvet

What have you guys seen for velvet on or off bucks lately? I saw one on Thursday without velvet. I rattled to him just to see his reaction and he was interested. About 200 yards across an open bean field, he looked straight at me and came within 100 yards in 5 minutes. I had to leave though because it was getting too dark and I didn't want to spook him. He was a 130ish 8pointer without velvet so the seasons are a comin'!

I saw a bunch of bucks without velvet, they were all together. On Wed. night I saw a different group of bucks and oddly enough, they all had velvet still.

I seen three this morning that had velvet.

2 last weekend while hanging stands, both out of velvet. group of about 8 the next evening all in velvet
