Video taping for a friend

Have any of you guys ever video taped a friend shooting a deer. The first time last bow season trying this my brother shot a real nice 11 point 140". Got it on tape it is awsome. Just wondering if any of u guys have had an experience like this.

Last fall I got my mom shooting her first muledeer. i was back by the truck.and they were out there a little so i zoomed in all the way and got the shot then folowed the deer till she fell.not the best footage but it was still pretty cool

My hunting partner filmed my hunts(bowhunting) for a week after he shot his buck. I shot a coyote at 10 yards on film and we got some good bucks, including a real bruiser I shot a couple weeks later. Unfortunately, my friend wasn't with me the day I arrowed my buck.

2 seasons ago I was hunting about 60-70 yrds away from my friend and I got his hunt on video. He shot a basket rack 8 pnt. Boy was it awsome. In the video you could hear me breathing heavy and I was the camera man. I would hate to hear his breathing and heartbeat.
This past season on opening weekend I had my camera mounted in the tree next to me. I had a couple of doe tags, so the first doe that came by I got the camera on her and drew back my bow and shot her right in the heart at 25 yrds. The only thing about videoing by your self is its hard to follow the deer after you shoot it. But the footage was still awesome!!!

my cousin always has his video camera while hunting. he has a lot of footage from seasons past but this year is his most. he got my first doe with a bow on video, my first buck with my bow on video, and his friend got video of him shooting a nice 140 class deer that destroyed the decoy before he shot this year. its really neat having that on video.

The last two years I've videoed for a friend in Iowa, you know him in this forum as Trpr. While I can't say the outcome was the one we had hoped for (hehe), we still got some great footage of some bruiser bucks, and those bucks are (probably) still growing. Just a little wiser...right Ken?

I hope to start videoing this spring on some strutting toms.

My brother and i did some tapeing this year. It was a blast. We got video of use both shoting our does. We also got some nice footage of a couple shooter bucks but we had already filled our buck tags!! It was amazing to watch the buck almost as big as my biggest to walk right under us and work a scrape but it neeter yet to watch it over and over again on our vidio!! Its a great way to capture the thrill for the off season.

In November 1999 I was in a double stand tree with my son, then 17, when he took his first buck with a bow, a nice 5 1/2 year old with a sticker on his G-2. Got the whole hunt on video.

Almost a year later I was in the same tree with my daughter, 14 at the time, during early muzzleloader season. It was really hot and I didn't think we'd see much so I convinced her that she should shoot a doe, if one came in, to help balance the sex ratio and apply for a late muzzleloader tag the next year for a better chance at a big buck. You guessed it, the only deer we saw was a nice buck. She got the buck and I got the hunt on tape. You can see both bucks at http://www.zachwildlifeart.com/zgbigtimberbucks.html

If you haven't tried it yet, take your kid(s) out and take a video camera. Get shots of both of you hunting sheds, scouting, on a the hunt, etc. It doesn't matter if you harvest an animal or not. The tape will capture memories you will both enjoy for a lifetime.

Mo Antlertips is being modest when he says that he taped some bruiser bucks. Last year his first time in Iowa and the first time anyone has ever taped me while I hunted he captured a monster 10 point in the 180 class come into my stand and caught me miss him on tape. Oh well! He then comes back again this year and the first time out he once again catches another booner on tape. A huge 12 point. We did not get into my area quick enough and had to tape him from a distance. We both just stood there and drooled! What fun. You said it right Old Buck, it isen't always having to harvest the animal, just seeing them and getting it all on tape will hold alot of memories for year to come. How big was that 12 point. We figured he would be pushing the high 180's if not 190. And yeah we have proof, its all on tape. I sure hope he's there next year.
Three times a charm John! Can't wait till October. Gobble! Gobble --- 2010.

Hey, this year I purchased a camera mount on e-bay from an up and coming company based in St. Louis. The camera mount runs around $50-$60 and it mounts right to your treestand, so you can tape your own hunts, handsfree...

Trper-

You will probably recognize who I am after thinking about it for awhile. I was located in the basement of where you work and was in the same office as "Doughboy" in 1997 and 1998. I have since moved to another location....

my cuzin did this with his first deer a lil basketrack 7 pointer. He didn't seem to hit the record button but he got him tracking it, and finding it it was pretty funny watching him say DAMMIT WHERE IS ALL THE BLOOD and things like that.
