This is probably a longshot, but I'm going to ask anyway:
I recently bought a lemonwood York flatbow made by Woodcraft Equipment Co. of Independence, Missouri. It was at an antique store, in good usuable shape, and the price was right, so I brought it home. Just curious if any of the traditional archers on here know any information about the manufacturer or their bows. The only thing I've been able to find so far on the web about them is this:
York Bows by Woodcraft
Looks like the company started by around 1924, but I don't know when the quit making bows. Mine appears to be about a 1930s or 1940s vintage longbow.
I'm going to need to get a string for it, so if anyone has suggestions on where to get a good longbow string, let me know.
Thanks in advance for the help on this one.
