VIZSLA'S

AIRASSAULT

PMA Member
So.. I have been pre-maturely informed that I am getting a dog for Christmas. I pretty much have my heart set on a Vizsla because everything I've read about them and seen of them tells me they are a great all around dog especially for bird hunting. Everyone tells me they are very spunky and need a lot of exercise. I also like them because they aren't a very big dog. Do any of you have one?
Does anyone know of any good breeders/kennels that they would recommend or any one that they know that will possibly have a litter available around the beginning of February. It's an X-mas present, but the soonest I will be able to get one is the first week of Feb.
Thanks,
Bill

I have owned them my entire life and currently have three. Nobody could change my mind on them not being the best dog out there. They are not water dogs by any means (when its cold) because of their thin coat but they are not afraid of the water. They are natural pointers, retreivers and hunt within gun range not a quarter mile away like some other breeds. If you have kids their temperament is a lot like that of labs, great with kids and protective of them. I have a 3 year old son that plays outside all the time. I just let my dogs run and they never leave the yard and they don't let anyone in when he is out with them. I have never had one bite anybody but they will make you think twice if you don't know them and my boy is outside. If I am out with them they could care less who comes by and will go out to greet anyone. I am biased but you won't go wrong with a Vizsla. They are very loyal dogs and love attention. It will be a 50 pound lap dog if you let him/her.

As far as Kennels go, Rozanek Kennels out of Schuyler, NE is a very reputable breeder, there are also several in Wisconsin, the names slip me right now. I will keep my ears open on dogs I have raised and sold to see if there are any litters on the ground. Best of luck in the search, PM me if you have any other questions.

I have hunted over Vizslas for the past ten years. My buddies dad has always had one. Very good dog and I would not hesitate to own one.

Good Luck
