Waltonian 3D

This weekend is also a great Rendezvous shoot up at the Waltonian Archers grounds near Toddville, just north of Marion. I used to LOVE this shoot as a kid because they make their own 3D targets and they're all life size! The 12 foot tall polar and brown bears are awesome, you need a step ladder to get to the 12 ring!

Just got back from this shoot, I was a bit disappointed. Most of the home made targets have been retired and I thought some of the shots were kind've "iffy".

Oh heck Muddy, if it doesn't have a 12 x 12 ft backstop behind it, you call them all "Iffy"

So sue me if I don't like it when an arrow whacks a target 10 steps behind, targets are sky lined, or when you can see campers and little kids running around 80 yards behind a target. Safety on 3D courses has changed from when I used to hit them with my parents.

I hear yah there, some of these places are ridiculous. I was at one today that when I pulled back to shoot at a turkey at 35 yards, 3 people stepped into view before I shot, that were looking for an arrow from 3 targets down. They were about 50 yards behind the target. No wonder they make yah sign a waiver before you shoot
