Water Story?

Just wondering on water amounts around the State-area? Seeing my dry Summer forecast didn't pan out. I've had near 9 in for July! Down in MO around Kirksville I see they had 18 for the Month of June alone. Coming from N-MI I never saw weather like this!

I haven't kept a summer total but the last three rains at my house SC Iowa....
Sat morning 5/8"
Sun morning 1 1/8
Last night 1 3/4"

I think we have plenty!!! Long term forecast says dry thru next week...we are getting a window this weekend!!!

I had 10" since 4:30pm yesterday. That is a little S.E of Norwalk. Needless to say, food plots are going to have to wait until river goes back into its banks. Ridiculous.

Not sure about the weekend? There is a chance again Sat night. When you read an extended forecast it says 30 or 40%. Then when the day arrives it jumps to 90% with a flood watch. So who knows. Bottom line is most of Iowa and Mo is the target, If you look at radar totals for the past wk or so over in Ill the rainfall drops off considerably. Keeps hammerin Iowa.

Have you guys ever used some of the precipitation apps? They are built for ag, but obviously work for food plots. You can select the field level view and it will give you precipitation reports for whatever time variable you're looking for.

The two I use on my iPhone are Climate Corp and Farm Logs.

Here's an example of one of my plots on Climate Corp:

And a snapshot of the same field on Farm Logs:

I have had 5 days=6 Storms. A storm a day. Yesterday two. Just about every one,a Hum Dinger, Too! Used to kinda like T-Storms

A lot here. Des Moines. Too much. I'll take "too much" vs "too little" anyday though. As long as it's not massive floods- droughts are far worse for everyone imo.

In Minnesota we have had nearly perfect rains. The crops look great and food plots...maybe best ever. The last three rains in July were 1 inch/1.3 and 1.7.

One of my farms had almost 3 inches in one shot last week, very unusual for late July in MN.

Agreed, wet better than dry for plots. Not so good for gardens. My garden Vegies trying to stay above water. Could not keep all kinds of fungus off my grapes no matter how much I sprayed em and every severe storm drops more green apples and pears. Having the usual dry Summer and Fire danger up NE where I came from, so I'll shut-up...

Creek has moved 40-50' in last year and half (towards my house). Another couple years and I'll be looking for a ride from Noah!

For anyone who may keep reading this, battle zone between heat and cool Canadian air supposed to start up again next week. The ring of fire set up once again over or near Iowa,,,so says Quad Cities weather Bureau, so be ready maybe more stormy weather? Are we surprised?

Been almost perfect here in the NW corner. Timely rains, not too much heat, etc. Crops and plots look awesome except for that darn resistant water hemp. Turnips going in today....

Yea,,thats the story the farther north ya go and on up into Minn perfect. Ya know why? The usual fronts stalling out in the Summer are way far south. They usually stall north of I-80 , or even farther north. The battle zone between air masses. This summer the battle zone has stayed south. Sometimes getting up there but then settling down and hangin around southern IA and N-MO. Also the upper atomosphere usually dries outlate summer. This year it keeps getting saturated from the gulf. Unusual for July and Aug. Hence,,copious amounts of water for fronts to work with. Supposedly next week its gonna do it again? Hope it stalls up there!
