Weather?

While hunting whitetails, what type of weather do you prefer as far as temp., sky, and pecipitation, if any? i my self prefer what most would consider a "great day to stay inside and keep warm". i like days where the sky is covered with thick light gray and white clouds(i feel that the clouds allow you to see farther and see better), temp. about 30 to 35 degrees and as far as the pecipitation goes i like lite to somewhat moderate rain. with my past hunting experiences i find that on these typed of days deer tend to move much more frequently. also these days provide you with the oppurtunity that, if there is a dull moment during the day, you can get out of your stand and still hunt or spot and stalk a little easier wether your using a gun or bow. also hunting in about 4 inches of snow with snow still falling is awesome.

I bowhunted for the first time last year. It was 34 degrees and misting. I got into the stand at 12:30 and shot my buck at 4:45. I felt like I had a better chance in that weather.

Cold, clear sunny sky and a slight breeze. Calm would be OK too and is good for the deer moving but it makes it much more difficult to move or make even the slightest sound at all.

20 degrees, sunny slight northwest 10 mph breeze. But actually any day I can spend in the stand is a good one.

Wind fron the nothwest 5-10mph...temp dropping into the 20s-30s, snow or light rain in the forcast, first or second week in November, all taking place after an Indian Summer.

In the morning during the rut, I like it to be clear, slight breeze and in the low teens for temp. If its a night hunt, I like it to be cloudy, drizzly, slight breeze, and just plain miserable. For late season muzzleloader, I like many below zero days, lots of snow, clear days so that way they have to come out and eat

Ill take temps in the 20s, 2 to 4 inches of fresh snow on the ground, wind 5 -- 10 out of any direction as long as it stays consistant.I prefer cloudy days for evening hunts , I think the deer come out earlier on dimmer days.

I love those cloudy misty days, no wind & the temps below 40 degrees during the 1st two weeks in Novenber. That seems to bring on a lot of action at any time of the day. Deer can scent trail better on misty days & seem to travel more in my neck of the woods. Late season, bring on the snow & cold temperatures & keep it cloudy for me.

I love it when its snowing out. Cloudy with no wind. Snow falling but not to thick so you cant see. About 3 inches when i get to the stand and when its luch time about 10-12 inches of snow on the ground. And the start of the rut. About 20-25 Degress. And for a night hunt still snowing big snow flakes 30-35 degress. No wind at all. I wish it was November or December so it could start snowing outside. I think when it snows out the deer are more active. I LOVE SNOW

I like it cold, but as nostalgic as the rain and snow sounds, I've been burned by a lost blood trail once too often to enjoy any significant kind of precip.

My choice: Clear, light winds, temps in the low 20's the first week in November.

I like snow and I like cold, I don't care when but an early Oct. snowfall is right up my alley. If it isn't cold I'm never too excited, -20 when I shot my buck this year, shot a dandy 3 seasons ago when it was so cold the aspen trees were popping, don't know how cold but it was damn cold. They move when it's cold, gotta keep warm, gotta eat.

Sunny, not a cloud in the sky 50* and dropping in October, minor breeze and NO precip with the trees multi colored and shedding. I like leaves on the ground, helps hear approaching animals.

Makes for a beutiful fall sunset and the deer are active.

OK call me fair weather!!! I do hunt in about any type as I try to get out 4-5 times a week.
