Weird colors

I pulled memory cards today and while looking through the images, I came across this one. I did nothing to the image (no photoshop, etc) and it was the only bizarre one and was in the middle of the images. All the other images were ok. The only thing I can think of was that the cam was aimed somewhat SE and the sun might have been at the "right" angle to cause this. This pic came from one of my Bushnell Trophy cams.

I think what happened was the camera took the picture as someone stuck the buck with a big mechanical broadhead and painted the world red.:drink2:

I use the Bushnells and get the same pictures now and then. I thought it was a bad media card but have not figured out the problem yet.

I had almost a whole card filled up with pictures like that on my bushnell...be interesting to know what has caused this?

Some of the "ACID" leaked and was absorbed by the camera. :)

Actually it looks like the IR filter was not up on a daytime picture

Oh my word that hurt my eyes.

Just curious Randy, since you're color blind what colors are you seeing in that pic?

I see bright pink sky and bright red everything else for the most part.

Again, just curious.

I'd say, in my world, that the ground is bright red and the sky purple. Lots of contrast to the image, which always helps me out.....

I received a response to my email inquiry to the company I bought the cam from, looks like Shredder wins the prize.

Randy,
Hello! That is a fairly common occurrence. What causes the red tint is the Infrared lens filter sticking in the "on" position when the camera is having a hard time differentiating between day and nighttime. It will happen occasionally and is totally normal. The only way I would be overly concerned is if it started doing it on all the day pictures.

FYI

Yup I just had to send one of my scoutguards in because of this. Make sure it doesn't continue or get worse. 75% of my pics were like this.

I had a pic just like that once. The next pic had a flying saucer scooping up the buck and a noise that kinda went wooo-woooo.

Dang martians are getting all the P&Y bucks.

I bet the DNR traded Turkey for martians to control the deer herd.
