Hello Hunters,
I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Weatherby rifles. I am thinking about getting one and I was wondering what all you hunters think of the guns. Do they stand up to their name? Is the price worth it? Basically, are they a good investment?

Weatherby's are first class rifles....fit and finish puts most average production rifles to shame. Resale value will be strong years from now in large part to the Weatherby name recognition.

I have a Browning automatic, and its just awesome. Have you looked at the price of the shells for those?

I was just going ot say the same thing. Look at paying at least an extra $15.00 box for the win.mag. cartrages. I shoot a 270 mag and my shells last year jumped $4.00 a box. They now run me $36.00. I am looking at jumping to a Rem. 280 now. Decent rifle for my elk hunting with dad when we go otherwise I would rather use my Parker Bow nad goldtip arrows.

My father, uncle and I own quite a few of the Weatherbys and just love them. I have a .257 German made and it is about the flatest most fun shooting caliber you will ever find. Then there is the most awesome rifle of them all, the .300. If you ever get the oppurtunity to shoot one of these you will know what I am talking about! All of ours are the older West German models, my uncles are all lefties. As for investment purposes I don't think you can go wrong with one of these guns, we have owned ours for years and they appreciate more and more every year. My suggestion is to just GO FOR IT, you will NOT be disappointed in them.

Hey thanks guys for the advice. I appreciate it a lot. I'll look into you suggestions.

Take care and good hunting
