and maybe it's just my area, but the deer are just hammering acorns right now. Hope it stays like that for a few more weeks.
 
With all the acorns that are dropping in my hunting areas, there's not a chance the deer could eat them all. I've never seen such a bumper crop of acorns where I hunt. Truly unreal. Almost every single tree is dropping and it sure makes it hard to decide which tree to hone in on to hunt.

Good to know that the deer will have plenty to eat.

I snatched up a bunch of them to plant...and several of them had already sprouted.
 
I knew a guy once that would take a bunch of small pebbles etc to his stand then when he would see deer feeding through the timber, he would start to occaisionally drop pebbles onto the ground simulating nuts dropping. He shot a ton of does doing this, he claims they come right in looking to put on the feed bag.
 
the woods I was in this weekend, the deer would have been spinning circles with all the noise from dropping nuts. It was unreal, I almost needed an umbrella.
