What would your setup look like?

I'm bitin the bullet and springing for a new bow. The only thing I've decided on is the bow. A new Bowtech General. If you were to setup all the stuff for it what would you suggest I put on it. I have been using horizontal pins, which I like and a whisker bisket which I like but would concider a drop away. Am open to suggestions...........

If you like something I see no reason to change.

That being said I would suggest the Limb Driver fall away rest for any Bowtech. I've also had great luck with my Trophy Ridge DropZone rest.

Moose.
If you like to bizkut take a look at the bowtech hostage rest. I had one put on my son's bow and it is pretty sweet. Not for me but it shoots well. Trophy Taker for me.

I put the Spott Hogg Whammy on my Guardian last year and really like it. It's my first drop away so I don't have that much to compare it to but it works for me. For my sight I used the Monatana Black Gold Flash Point 4 pin. It's very rugged in my opinion and the pins have great clarity in low light. This sight survived a pretty rough hunt in the CO Rockies and I was very pleased.

I personally hate drop aways in the turkey blind so I would stick with the biscuit. I went back to one after trying some NAP drop aways. Also. I love my trophy ridge sight. LOVE IT!

BUT It wasnt bright enough for me in the blind. It just couldnt hack it. So I am trying a tru glo. I think its the Range Rover. About 70 bucks. Its a slider, which I see as a down fall But it is a sweet sight. The other one I was looking at is a HHA slider. Just because it has the .19 pins. But I like what I have and it is at a good price.

Go crazy. I love setting up a new bow!

A longbow would be a-lot easier to lug up those bluffs! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I agree with what Limb says, however if you are shooting Blazers out of it I don't think they will fly without contacking the bottom of the rest, I tried it out on one setup at Scheels a while back and the vanes hit everytime, could be the setup was wrong but was a big downfall. That rest is sweet if you are shooting regular vanes though. Also, the NAP Quiktune 360 is a biscuit style rest without the full contact (similar to the hostage). This rest will clear the 2" Blazers. The point of both these rests is to have full containment and save your fletches as the fletches never come in contact with the nylon like on the biscuit. Check them out.

I will be pimping out a new bow soon as well Perry. Going with 60 lber this time. I havent shot the General yet, but it will be between that and the Guardian again I think.

What did you like better about the General?

I'll let ya know tommorrow. I havn't shot it yet but if it's as good as the Guardian............

Spot Hogg Hunter Hogg It sight if you like horizontal. I use an HHA single pin w/ rheostat, its a nice single pin if you want to make the switch.

I switched from a Biscuit to a QAD Ultra Rest Pro on my XT, it keeps the arrow completely contained and gives complete clearance. Its a little pricey but I think its worth the money.

The General is a great bow, make sure to post pics when you get it all set up!
