A Few Steps Ahead Of You
Iowa's Bow season is just over a month away, but i know lots of you fellas are not Iowa Residents, OR are starting your season else where.

when does it start for you and/or where are you going?
(if you have pix of preveous trips...lets see 'em)

I am headed to Minot, North Dakota to start my season in 2 1/2 weeks. but the season actually opens August 31st.
ill be hosted by great friend and hunting partner, Josh (Nacho) and things are looking good!

just for grins, i put a few pix up here of the only ND buck i killed. (Sorry about the hair....yikes) i took him while i lived there, and will be sitting in some of the same treestands in a few weeks.
Can't wait!

It starts Sept. 1 up here. 1 or 2 weeks of velvet.....food source deer. It's going to be awesome of frustrating likely both.

Sept 1, bear season opens, Sept 15 deer season opens (hunting with kids mostly to put some meat on the table). November 1st or thereabouts I will be in Fairfield IOWA area chasing bruiser bucks for 2-3 weeks or however long it takes.
 
I'm going to try my hand at an urban hunt on the 15th also. The early start date is the biggest reason.
 
I am going to Idaho Sept 7th-15th to try my hand at elk. I just got invited today on a grouse hunt that my company is hosting in northern michigan on Sept 27th. Not sure if I will make that or not. To be honest I can't even think of deer right now, all I have is elk on my mind
