Im guessing Saskguy has been looking at this whitestuff for a while now, but I thought I would share.

I REALLY want to go hunting but I have to work today. Hopefully I will get off in time to go out and whack a doe. They were calling for this for the last week on the weather so I guess I shouldnt be suprised but it always get me excited for a few minutes when I wake up after a fresh snow.

Looks pretty similar in southern Ia right now. I am sitting at work getting ready for a cross country track meet that starts in 2hrs.
 
It's coming down here in central Iowa still, not sticking very well though unfortunately. I wish it would start accumulating! It could stay until February too!
 
What happened to fall?! This sucks. Well I guess the game plan is switching a little now. I think I might sit on an alfalfa field tonight. What's everyone else's plans?
 
I sat in my tree for 3 hours this morning. That cold wind didn't feel very good. But I didn't really care as long as I got to see some deer. 2 does & a distant grunt, never did see the buck. They have been paying attention to the scrapes, it's getting closer :)
 
Fished on the rainy river on the canadian side yesterday and today. Colder than blazes. Wind chill about zero. Fishing was tough by my wife did get a big sturgeon which is why we went. I am not really ready for this weather yet.

311 you better get with the program we have three deer in the freezer. :)

I've heard several report that said the eyes have been hot up there. Heard some good reports of the river in brainderd is been hot for ski's as well.

As far as deer in the freezer, I dont like tracking/gutting/cutting when its warm out. Like to atleast let them hang over night to cool. Its been entirely too warm for the ngihts I've been hunting. I'll knock one down before gun season Im sure, then keep my gun tag empty so I can blackpowder/late bow hunt.
