When to check for rubs/scrapes

I know it's to early to start checking for rubs and scrapes but when is it the right time to start looking? And how do you go about it?

Around my area they don't really get goin until the end of Oct, and I mean the very end. I don't look for them then.don't want to spook em. I check what went on in late winter/early spring. Make notes for next season. You can encourage scrape making by making some of your own during the late Summer in places you want bucks.

My area scrapes start showing up mid October, I put a camera over a spot that the bucks scrape every year at the beginning of October

rubs start happening as soon as the bucks lose velvet. That is how they strengthen their neck muscles and prepare for the rut. I dont start seeing many scrapes until early october.
