I know this has been hashed out probably a thousand times, but most of you guys have full bow tags and are sitting around waiting for late muzzy so hook a brotha up. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif It's time for me to get into the trail cam era...yes, finally. My x mas list is consisting of only one thing this year...a trail cam. I know I'll be addicted to them so getting a cheapo to test them out isn't a needed option.....if you guys could pick any one on the market what would it be? Thanks!

I probably am not the one to respond to this, as I have now had a trail camera for a total of 3 weeks, but here goes anyhow. I got a Scout Guard 550. My experience so far is great. Great photos, fast trigger speed, infra red, easy to set up and use, small, all for $200 with free shipping if you look for the right vendor.

cabellas is offering, a 2 cam set of wild views , 4 megapixel, 69.00 after 20.00 rebate, i have 6 of them , and they do the job for me, my brother, and myself are ordering 3, that will give me 9, and him 3,for the money their not bad.

ditto

I had no problem with moultrie until recently. I have about 200 pictures of butts, and blurry picks and battery life was full. It is not a "trail cam" by any means at all, it is a if they slow down or stop cam.

I am a huge cuddeback fan. Coming second would be stealth. Moultire is last on my list. I have 3 of the cuddebacks, 2 stealths and 2 moultries I60's, and the I60s don't take very good pics, trigger speed is out of this world slow, and the thing is as big as a tv hooked to a tree.

My vote too!!

I will second that. Plus great trigger speed.

Interesting to hear Nanny on the Moultries.

Cuddeback is also a great camera.

Scoutguard 550 is my vote. I have a moultrie 6.0 and two 4.0 and a cuddeback expert. The 2 scoutguard I bought this year are definately my choice of camera until something better comes out in the $200 price range.

I would greatly discourage anyone buying the 2008 moultrie 4.0. I had a problem with a moultrie from last year and moultrie replaced it with the new "improved" 2008 model and I absolutely hate it. It takes good pictures but once it goes into battery save mode the trigger speed is super slow, so expect a lot of blank pictures and butts.

Scout Guard 550! I don't even use the photo mode anymore. I am addicted to the videos... /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Im a cuddeback fan and am really looking intersted in the new cheap simple ones.

I have 3 cuddebacks and a leafriver.

I would boot the leafriver out of my deer collection but it works for what it is.

This it Limb? Do you have a lock box for yours?

550

The cable is enough for me. You actually really have to be looking to see the camera they are so small. If I were to be in an area where I thought theft would be an issue I would probably get the lock box.
