Whisker Bisquit Shooters

The pro shop talked me into trying one of these for free (droptine model). I do like the fact it was the easiest rest to put on and tune of any I've ever used. My only concern for the upcoming season is the fact I'm get more noise while drawing then I thought I would. I shoot carbon express maximas and the texture of the paint on the arrow might be the problem. I might be stressing a little over nothing, but after spooking a buck a couple years back because my glove squeaked a little on my bow handle I've gotten picky. Any ideas to quiet the draw a little? I considered spraying a little silicone on the bisquit bristles, but haven't tried yet. It is the large hole bisquit, so the arrow is only contacting the bristles on the very bottom.

I take a q-tip and rub it inside there to get the cotton on the bristles. That seems to help a lot.

Did you come up with that on your own? Pretty ingenious, I'll give it a shot. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif Does it take long for the cotton to "wear off"?

That is a great idea. The rest will get quiet as it gets broke in. Atleast mine did.

Thanks for the input fellas, a ton of guys use this rest religiously, I'm hoping to be as happy with it as they are.

Wipe your arrows with wax paper and roll some around your arrow and work it back and forth through the hole. I also try to rub wax paper on the edge of the vanes.

That Q-tip suggestion is neat. If you do that I don't think I'd wanna do the wrap part, but my carbons are slicker than snot after a good wax paper rub down.

When I was a kid we used to buy tootsie pops and use the wax paper wrapper to wax down the slide at school. Any thing for a little more speed.

Can't take credit for that, I think somebody posted it on here quite awhile back. Cotton stays on there for quite awhile.

You can hear occasionally....but it never came into play for me th 5 years I shot one. Don't sweat that.

Any noise that you hear will only become much less with use. As the whisker tips become more used they are softer... thus very quiet in my experience. If you have any concerns though the Q-tip fibers do work very well.

Just get a drop-away. IMHO bisquits are junk. Not very accurate past 30 yards. Anything that touches my fletching I call a clearance issue!

No offense to the die-hard bisquit guys /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif
