Who else fishes in the summer?

Just wondering who else fishes in the summer. I spend alot of time chasing walleye but also love to catch big pike. I've been doing just that for over a week. Where I fish there is nothing as exciting as watching a big old pike explode out of the weeds onto your bucktail. Here's one I smacked this week, just under 40".

Here's a 20# fish my brother took this week as well, she absolutely tore up the weed bed in the fight. We put everything over 5lbs back.

Here is one of the 50 walleye 3 of us got yesterday morning, they were all between 21 and 26", it was a super 2 hours of fishing. I had to come home last night to keep my wife happy but I'm going to make the 1 hour drive again next weekend for sure.

well after seeing that, i'm ready to make a road trip north!
actually i just got back from trying to catch a few bass this morining....the fishing SUCKED here

AWSOME!!! I would love to catch northerns like that sometime. I have to agree with you teeroy, the fishing here in southeast Nebrsaska has sucked also. A different weather front moving thru ever other day has the bass with a case of lockjaw. By this time I am usually having a blast catching them on topwater lures in the early morning and late evening but this year it just hasnt worked yet.

Nothing but little farm ponds here. 20 or 30 of these greenies at 3/4 to 1lb still is a lot of fun. Guess I'll have to take what I can get. mchunter(curlie locks) and his cousin in the other picture.

I'm scanning the photos for empty cans, it took about an 18 pack, a 30 pack and we'd have had some more big northerns, ran out and had to go back to the cabin.

Just got back from striper fishing on lake Wilson in kansas. Thank god there was a bar close by and the cooler kept the rest of the beer cold. In 2 days we only caught 4 fish. They were surfacing around us but only stayed up on top for a few seconds. On the other hand lake Rathbun near Chariton has been producing tons of walleyes, white bass and catfish.

Awesome fish Saskguy. Not many giants like those Canadian fish down here, but here's a decent northern I got earlier in June. Just over 32 inches and 8 lbs.

Nice fish NWBuck! Nice boat too, I can't see much of it but can see enough to know it's a beauty, gotta love Lund boats. I finalized plans for another trip last night, me and a buddy are going fri-mon, hope to smack some real big ones this time, will post more picks if I do.

Hey NWBuck that looks like the boat ramp at Marble Beach any chance I'm right. Nice fish, if it is Spirit Lake I pulled a 6lb walleye out of there in June. Its a good lake but this year there have been some real nice fish coming out of there.

Yep...that's the place! Spirit has been very good to us this summer. We've probably caught 200+ 'eyes so far. Most have been throw backs, but my daughter and brother-in-law each got 5 pounders on the same day off the ledge by Templar. If all of those 13-14 inchers have decent growth, that lake should be awesome in another couple of years. Here's a pic of my daughter's walleye...24.5 inches and right at 5 lbs. Sorry the picture is so crappy, but the smile is genuine!

Went back up to the lake this weekend with some buddies, we nailed the walleyes, a couple hundred in 3 days, lots of 21-25"ers, a couple 26"ers and this was the best one, a 28" dandy, threw every single fish back. Sorry for my friend Curt's lack of clothing in the picture, he must have been hot. Caught alot of pike as well but none over 10 pounds, it was hot, high 90's but the walleye were biting all day.
