Just wondering how many of us are going to go early muzzleloader this year. I am chomping at the bit for this weekend to start. I have the whole season off so hopefully I can tip something over during this season.
I gave up shotgun season with my buddies this year to try out the muzzleloader season. So lets hope that I don't regret it. Good luck to everyone that is going out and have a safe season.
I can't wait to see everyone's results and story on how the season went for them.

I am going, I don't expect much, but I guess you never know. one thing for sure a doe is gonna go down, don't know if I will see a good enough buck though

I'm going for the first time. Bought my son a smokepole for Christmas last year. He's in college now, so Ol' Dad is gonna take a few days off work and see how it works.

Count me in....with the moon phase turning perfect near the end of it and the pre-rut kicking in...Its going to be awesome. My bet is some real monsters hit the dirt this coming week. Only bad thing is the combines need to be moving just a bit faster...

I am going to be heading out can not wait to see what happens! I hope they get the combines out where I hunt or else it is going to be tough!

I plan to take the wife out for her first time deer hunting Saturday by Ottumwa. My 12 year old daughter got her buck opening youth season hope my wife is as lucky.I would be happy to see some deer with all the crops still in.Good luck to everybody and be safe out there!

I decided to get my any sex land owners tag for early muzzle season this year. That way I can still hunt the shotgun season with my buddies. Saw a nice buck last year during that season but I only had a bow tag and he was just out of bow range. Hope he shows up again this year. Still lots of crops in around here too so I'm going to try to go a little deeper into the timber. Good luck to all, hope to see some big buck photos soon.

i'm in, virgin excursion, i am ready to go since last week, nothing but dreams of bucks. my gun is sighted and my land is scouted.
good luck to everyone, shoot straight, shoot safe

I used to Muzz hunt, but it always seemed to get in the way of bow season. Had to switch gears and get the gun ready, find the orange and all the other stuff you have to take. Then for the two seasons I hunted, both does I killed (not very picky) were easily in bow range, so I just went back to the quiet shooting. I had fun with it, I just never have to clean my bow after shooting it!!!

Good Luck to all of you hunting this weekend!

I'm going as well. Hoping this cold weather cranks the movement up a notch. How many of you veteran M/L'rs hunt from a treestand?

My Old Man climber is a comfy perch and a good gun rest too. My 50 cal. Knight Disk hasn't failed me yet either. one of my buddies stuck a 160 class 10 pointer last night at 5:45, hope thats a good sign they'll be moving this weekend!
