this post was started in the conference, it should stay in the conference. i know some people have more insight to the story than the rest of us, but the fact is, that article creates some discussion...both for and against. i have read the article in iowa game and fish, and i am kinda on the fence. i have been waiting for the 2nd part, or for NAW to hit the stands to comment. but removing this thread is not right

I agree teeroy! I think locking it was probably the right thing to do, but moving it wasn't. I hope every hot debate doesn't get moved to the PMA!

i don't even think locking it was right. the way that article was edited, just begs for debate. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying anything was illegal on the harvest, and i'm glad a local family got to take him.
besides, isn't that was these forums are for, to debate controversial topics and to share info?

I have to agree with you guys. If the post was started in here and it gets too hot then shut it down. I understand that membership has it's priv's but it shouldn't take the food off your table and give it to someone else, so to speak. JMO

I paid my 16 dollars for a PMA membership because I figured it was the least I could do to help support this site and keep it going as the best whitetail site on the net. OneCam and the rest spend a lot of time keeping things up and they can do whatever they want. My two cents

The exchange of opinions and ideas is what makes this site so great. I learn something almost everytime I'm here (except to keep my mouth shut). I feel like some of the "dialogue" has bordered on innuendo and I wonder how those posters would feel if they legally shot the same buck and were second guessed and questioned about their tactics and ethics. I don't have any thing to gain by defending Tony- I don't know the family at all. I just wish everyone would pull together with congrats but I can see that isn't going to happen. Anyway- Tony, great job.

i'm glad to see everything has been put back. i agree "membership has its privledges" but how many people would you lose if you just kicked all non-members out? how many good personalities would be gone? how much good info/tips? this IS their site, and they can do with it what they want, but as this is america, we all have equal right to voice our displeasure.

i realize that the lovstuen story hits close to home for iowans. and i am sure it is hard for onecam and others to see this family torn down by people who don't have the whole story. not all of us have had the fortune to be a guest in their home and hear the story first hand, from all angles. or to have our individual questions answered as the arrise. i have not read the NAW article, and the article in iowa game and fish is a 2 parter (stupid ploy to sell more magazines, instead of reporting info) and more may be made clear as the entire story unfolds. kinda B.S. that we have waited since sept/oct to see the pics, and now we have to wait another month to read the rest of the story.
i am actually concidering dropping my subscription.

but we need to keep an open dialog going to get out the facts, and share information

I think that it was moved because it was becoming an argument instead of a debate. We as members are already here. We know the content of the site and the quality people that are present here. However, if you are an occasional or fist time user and you read the arguments that were going on here, you might just be completely turned off by the content. The problem about expressing your opinion about a topic that you do not have all the facts on is that when you defend your opinion by arguing it, and spread it around, your opinion becomes a rumor. After that rumor gets circulated some will think that it is fact. This is exactly what has happened with the Albia buck and why the rumors (that started out as assumptions and opinions) got started. This site is second to none and so are the members. Express your opinion, once, and that should be great. Repeatedly defending that opinion is an argument and I can see where the powers that be did not want it! Let's ensure that this site stays as top noch as it always has been.
