Why????????

Apparently none of you have ever driven a real Humvee /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Nostalgia baby, nostalgia. Now for the ultimate gas gussling SUV you need a DUECE AND A HALF with rims like that... Oh yeah, now that would be poppin!! Nah, regulation rims and tires, straight up with camo is the way to be I wish I had a picture of our truck from the Army. We built a camper on the back, it was pretty sweet, pulled a trailer with 2 generators in the back. Man I miss driving that baby!!

Welcome to the club Muddy! Back in July I was casterated and traded my quad cab Z71 for a bright red Dodge Caravan - let me tell you it feels awesome to hand the keys to your truck to a salesman and then get into your bright red minivan....awesome.....NOT. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

9 days went by and I found another truck that was more affordable anyway...

I will say though...with kids I would not want anything other than a minivan...they are flippin awesome...and yes, I just said minivans are awesome so bite me! /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

ill be joining that club before too long.....

They can, I made sure of that. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Do not get anything without stow and go - it is the bomb. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif In 10 seconds our back seats fold into the floor and you have a bed almost bigger than a truck. You can haul a lot of stuff in them. Even a big ol rutted buck if you put a tarp down. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I can't believe what I'm reading from you Sallys. MINIVANS ARE NOT COOL. They never have been-they never will be. It dosen't matter what they can tow, or where there seats stow to. You can try to justify why you have one, but no matter what kind of a pitch you make you still have a minivan at the end of the day.

Fellas, I'm not just talking sh** because I don't have one. About two years ago my wife was convinced by her sister that we needed a van as our second son was on the way. The day we bought that thing was probably the worst day of my life. Fortunately, last winter's severe weather exposed the van as the worthless piece of crap that it was for winter driving. My wife didn't like walking from the road when it couldn't go up our lane. She never had to do that with the Jeep she traded in for the van. Thank God she got tired of it and we got rid of it in March.

God, I hated that thing.

Timekiller hit it on the head- minivans are almost as bad as the change to JCP cotton panties once you are married, women try to convince you they are comfortable.

I agree that minivans are NOT COOL. I know because I own one as well /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif . Regardless of the fact that they are not cool, the T&C Ltd we have rides VERY nice and can in fact haul a ton of stuff. It has come in handy on many occasions. You can get them with AWD for winter driving /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Still NOT cool, just NECESSARY

I'm still trying to figure out how a thread about ugly rims on a Hummer turned into a mini van discussion. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I guess i will tote my un-coolness. We have a Honda Odysey and it is the cats ass. I absolutely love it.

HAHA, I'm waiting for someone to put a 6" lift kit on a Minivan and take it into the deer woods /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

Maybe they could be the cat's meow for hunting? /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sleep.gif

They are damn comfortable to say the least, AND they are just about invisible to police... I get away with speeding A LOT more than I used to in a truck or car for that matter /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

We needed the space but I threw down the gavel on the minivan idea. We got a Honda Pilot instead and I had to hurry before the 09 came out. They changed them into a box car.

Holy crap there minivan hater....I'm not trying to start a war, but for all the crap a family has to take for a child and a dog when the go out of town on a 3 hour road trip there is nothing more comfortable (IMO) than a van. We're not all crammed in there like in a car, have plenty of room to move around, the kid can see out the windows, I can lay the seat back and put my feet up and be layed out almost flat while the wife drives, and the dog can sit in the back and keep an eye on everything behind us. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif Maybe they aren't seen as "cool" but they are damn handy and now that we have one, if I had to choose between my truck and our van for the well being and convenience of getting my family places I'd sell my truck in a second before getting rid of the van. Even loading my son into the back seat of my quad cab (that I traded for the van) was much more of a chore than putting him into the van. After all....they're just vehicles and don't define you as a "manly" tough guy. /forum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
