Made this ring out of Elk Antler for my wife. Ineed a tripod or something my closeups are always blurry.

Tip of the day! When shooting close ups put your camera in the "macro" mode. It's the little flower symbol. It's a setting specifically for close-ups.

I use that but it takes me 20 tries to get a good one. Then they look good on the camera but when I upload there blurry.
 
What part of the antler did you use? Did you bore out the center honeycomb part of the antler? I just made myself a set of earings but the turned out a little rough.
 
I used a point and bored out the soft part. Have you tried super glue or clear apoxy? Put some on a paper towel turn your speed up after a minute or so sand and the use your regular finish. Works for filling in all the little holes. Let me know how you turn out.
