Window size in blind

Ive got the frame finished on a homemade bale blind and I'm about to cut in some Windows. I've never made a blind before and I've never hunted whitetails from a blind, only turkeys. This blind will be for deer and turkey with archery equipment. I was curious if you all have any feedback on window sizes that work well. I hate to go too big and be seen and I hate to go so small that it makes for tough shooting. I plan to find a good chair for the blind and set inside with bow drawn to decide what height I'd like the Windows.

Cut it smaller than you think you need and practice out if it. Can always remove more material if you want it bigger, but is more difficult to add material back.

Bow or gun?

Personally I'd have it larger and have some black cloth or something soft hanging to help break up the hole yet give ample room for sight and shooting.

Agree they can be smaller than you think. Especially width. I, however, messed mine up and should have went much longer on the low side of the window. Surprising, kind of, how skinny of an opening you can shoot through.

That's what I'm thinking , Arm. I'm thinking about going with a tall, narrow window. Two spots I anticipate putting these blinds will be at the top of a hill where it will be possible that I need to shoot slightly downward.
