Winter Feeding

Just curious how many of you guys and gals are putting out corn as a supplement to the deer and turkeys. I started about three days ago, and they seem to be hitting it fairly hard already. I suppose I've been laying out about a bushel a day.

I bought a gravity wagon for $300, I hauled to my neighbors farm, (i retreive hay bales in the summer for him for hunting rights) he filled it with ear corn when he was picking corn in the field, he hauled down the road to my place and i paid him $150 for the corn. I just crank the door open, have a big bucket underneath, drag it a few feet in front of the camera and empty. Sometimes we have 3 feet of SNOW at my place because of Lake MI.

I've been at it about two weeks now. I think it's time to change the delay settings on the camera. Over 200 pictures in two days.

I will share some soon. Shredder is swapping out memory cards with me today so I can get the camera back out tonight. There were several buck pics but I have about 50+ of a group of does that must have stayed at the "all you can eat cafe" all day!

I've been at it for a little over a month. Every sunday I put out a few square alfalfa bales (80lbs each) and about 500 pounds of peas. They have it pretty well cleaned up in a week. Mustn't be good enough, last night some moved right down beside the house to where the alfalfa bales are stacked. I'm sure they'd eat my apple trees but snow is piled up 5 feet high on them.
