I currently have a couple sets of day one fleece coats and saddle cloth bibs and the fleece is anything but waterproof so if I know it is going to rain I use my rivers west. I am considering picking up wool from gray wolf but I have never used wool so I don't know how well it would suit what I have or hunting throughout the season.
The questions I have are:
1.I know that wool is warm but what would be the tempature range? Being the warmest on stand setting temperature without layering and the coldest on stand setting temperature with layering considering no wind.
2.I have also read that the natural waterproofing will keep you dry, but my question is how well will wool alone keep you dry in a constant down poor?
3. Also I have read that you have to have wool taken to a dry cleaner but as far as keeping the garment scent free how would you do this if you can't wash it and hang it out to dry?
4.The final question I have is not as important as the above but after using fleece and having every stick-tite and cocklebur in the woods on me how bad if at all does wool pick up burs and other sticky seeds in the woods.
thanks.
