If its a cool season grass spray it with gly late October or later. If its foxtail just keep it mowed and shouldn't be a problem after... -
Clethodim will kill the grasses and as long as you stay at or below 4oz/acre, is safe on wildflowers.

My experiences.... let it be. Mow it high a couple times and be patient. Same goes for any of these natives,switch,etc.... be patient...
