I am not buying that ratchet straps make a stand more dangerous. The ratchet straps I use are way stronger than any tree stand straps in the market.

I add ratchet straps to every single stand I put up. Situations like this worry me all the time and I am just glad it was not worse.

I agree we can only hope. This is a tough and demanding sport, or at least it is supposed to be. I know that there are going to be a lot of people that won't be able to hang (pun intended) when the going gets tough. I know the hunting "industry" isn't going to like it, but oh well.

I have the CVA Apex which has the Bergara barrel. Great gun. Had some issues with my Nikon scope base getting loose but that had nothing to do with the gun. Gun is deadly accurate and shoots every time.

I think Wednesday will be the best day because with the really cold temperatures we have been having they are going to be wanting to move when it warms up on Wednesday, imo.
