    Multiflora rose/oriental bittersweet removal?

Personally I have never tried it on locust but I bet it would work just fine.

    Multiflora rose/oriental bittersweet removal?

As far as I know it doesn't. Crossbow is strictly a foliar spray. The other nice thing is that it doesn't hurt grasses, only broadleaf plants.

    Multiflora rose/oriental bittersweet removal?

You guys that are using gly on cut stumps, are you all mixing 50/50 with water and do you find it as effective as Tordon? Tordon is getting pretty pricey. FWIW, I have had very good luck with Crossbow (spraying green foliage) on everything I have tried including honeysuckle, MFR, and even...

    Hawk blinds

I built my own 6'x8' blind (8.5' to the base) and used 3' anchors that auger into the ground, twisted them in with a crowbar. Two on each 8' side and one on each 6' side. It has survived the derecho and everything else for 12 years. It's on skids so those anchors are the only thing holding it down.

    Broadcasting brassicas

Just thought I'd update how this turned out, FANTASTIC! I broadcasted 8lbs of Welters Big Buck Brassica Blend around Aug 1st on just over 1 acre. It was pure dust at that time but I lucked out and got 4" of rain over about a week starting around the 6th or so. I never did put any fertilizer on...

    Broadcasting brassicas

Ok you have talked me into the broadcasting. I certainly wasn't looking forward to rototilling that dust bowl on an open station tractor in this heat anyway. I'll figure out something for fertilizer if it germinates. I've been in my local FS fertilizer barn many times and never seen AMS but they...

    Broadcasting brassicas

This is what I'm dealing with. If I get rain and the flowers develop into pods I'll get a few beans. Fertilizer issues aside, would you bother trying to save this with broadcasting or just start over? No deer around here has eaten a brassica in its lifetime so the skimpy beans might help with...

    Broadcasting brassicas

Stirring up weed seeds is a good point, currently the only weeds are the occasional water hemp that survived 2 sprayings but even those have been browsed down to 3-4". I have easy access to the plot so I think I'll just try some of both methods to experiment. Broadcast over some of the "better"...

    Broadcasting brassicas

Ok, I might be kidding myself that my beans are even worth saving but you guys are giving me hope that the broadcasting might work out ok. I still may just till up the smaller part of the plot that's wiped out and put the brassica mix in there instead. If I do that I it would give me another 5...

    Broadcasting brassicas

How well does broadcasting brassicas work? I planted 1.8 ac of beans this spring and between some poor germination and the deer absolutely pounding the beans I'm left with mostly bare dirt. There are a lot of bean plants but they are all about 5"-6" tall and heavily browsed. Despite the...
