Conservative Conservationist here. Small Government person, minimal taxes, big time against a lot of government waste, fraud & abuse, etc. And.....
I FULLY SUPPORT THIS!!!
Everything I've read or understood so far on IWILL is a no brainer for our delicate & critical ecosystem & environment here. Iowa is the "most transformed" state in the 50 states of our country with a fragile environment needing any help it can get. IWILL came off as extremely logical and sound minded for desperately needed conservation, habitat, soil, water, etc. NO BRAINER.

Assigned to the Ways and Means subcommittee of: Behn, Chair; Feenstra and McCoy.

From the Governor's budget proposal: Water Quality – the Governor is proposing to implement a water quality improvement plan, based on the bipartisan bill passed by the Iowa House last spring. The FY 2018 budget would provide an additional $3.7 million in General Fund dollars to the Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship for water quality improvement activities. The Governor is also requesting a $4.3 million increase in Rebuild Iowa Infrastructure Fund dollars going to water quality efforts.

I'm concerned the legislators will use the Governor's proposed budget as an excuse not to pass the sales tax increase because it contains some one time money for clean water even though it doesn't do anything for other natural resources. I'd say pass the tax and cut the 8 million he has proposed.

I promised myself that this year I'd just put up links to legislation and not express my opinions. I also promised my wife I wouldn't put any extraneous stuff in the garage freezer. She didn't appreciate finding the wheel bearings for my motorcycle in there.
