    Looking for local Taxidermist

We actually have a quite a few trail camera pictures of him through out the year. You are right, he did loose some mass during the rut but the pictures also do no do justice. After he was shot he tumbled off a 7 ft cliff into a dried creek bed. It was hard to get him positioned well down there...

    170"+ buck-looking for local taxidermist

Cool response. I AM willing to pay more for quality gear that will last me years, gear that will keep me warm and comfortable in the tree. While I am extremely proud of my deer and recognize it is possibly a once in a lifetime animal, I am not sure I am willing to pay $500-$700 for it to hang on...

    Looking for local Taxidermist

I shot a beautiful 170"+ buck on Sunday afternoon and I am looking for a local taxidermist. I am in the Quad Cities and am just looking for a euro mount (although I did have it caped just incase I wanted a full shoulder mount). Who does everyone use or who do you recommend. I would like to get...

    Is he alive?

How did the blood look? There is a chance your arrow never hit lung and only hit brisket meat. If that happened, he would bleed pretty good for a while but eventually clot up. If you only hit meat and no vitals there is a chance he will live to fit another day.

    Youth bow

My understanding that the diamond atomic is a very light bow too. May be something to consider in addition to draw weight. I'm looking for a bow for my little girl and know she needs something light if she is going to shoot more than a few arrows.

    pre-season scouting

Thanks guys. I would be sitting in a tree house that is in the middle of a crop field with Binos. We don't hint with 200 yards of the tree house so I'm not concerned about spooking anything. Sounds like jot moves in the am this time of year. I think I'll opt for a long run and a little...

    pre-season scouting

Question...tomorrow morn ng I have the opportunity to sit in a stand over a bean field to do a little scouting. My question is, is it worth it? Are they moving in the mornings? I have been seeing tons at night but haven't been out at sunrise. I know most will say absolutely but with a wife who...

Does anyone have experience with western DIY elk hunting? A few guys and I are looking to go in 2015 and I would love to be able to pick someone's brain in tactics, equipment, etc. As an Iowa boy born and raised, I have decent experience with week long backpacking trips (Colorado, Porky...

I actually look forward to bad weather when wearing my sitka gear its fun knowing you will be comfortable regardless of cold, rain, sleet or snow. As some one with little body fat (or muscle mass) I need dry and warm gear...sitka does it for me.
