I got roughed up in SW Iowa during archery season. Bucks, but only one mature. I strugged to see deer at times. Very disappointed in my sightings. Page/Montgomery County.
My taxidermist always jokes that his work is guaranteed for life....his life. I apologize I'm not a turkey hunter but I'm glad it wasn't a bad review on your deer. Fool me once shame on you.
Thanks for all the early season tips. I haven't had much success until about the 20th of OCT. I'd like to BUCK that trend this year. A little pun intended.
Had a great time there last year!! Shot a heavy horned spike buck, only deer I seen in a week. Drank a little sparkling grape juice cause the county's are dry. Danced with a fat chic and even hooked up with her ugly friend. Slid into a bar ditch cause the roads are crap. And got pulled over...
Thanks for holding out on us. Its all about supply and demand. And the demand out weights the supply for 2014 deer stories right now. I see that deer and think two year old....I have a lot to learn yet.
This will be my first year attending the festivities. Any tips, pointers, and highlights that a first timer should be aware of? What is your favorite part of the show. I'm looking to start an open discussion.
This is very true but in my opinion more bucks cruising would get shot, thus decreasing the mature breeding bucks and future hunting quality. And then a downward spiral would occur where you lose age structure more or less eliminating most of your bucks before they get reach 3-4 years old. IMO...
