    Iowa Dove Hunting

For next year if you have the ability to put in even an acre of sunflowers you can probably have a great hunt. We put in a little over an acre at my son's place and 4 of us limited out in less than 2 hours last weekend. We planed on May 7 and mowed about 60% of it off 2 weeks prior to hunting...

    Site(s) for listing hunting land?

Not sure if this is the right place for this but am looking for input. I am selling 130 acres of hunting ground near Des Moines and want to try to sell it on my own prior to engaging a realtor. Does anyone know good sites to list land on to reach hunters? Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!

how to rid land of a pack of mangy dogs

Had the same problem in my area about 10 years ago and my neighbor did lose about 4-5 calves to the dogs. Took an organized dog hunt to get most of them and then cleaned up a couple of stragglers a few months later. Not pretty but they can become very destructive when they go feral. A friend of...

    Arbor Day Foundation Trees?

I've ordered 50+ of their fruit trees in the past and have been favorably impressed with them. Not the biggest trees but they are priced right and they've done very well for me.

    Rotary Tiller?

I have a 73" Deere. Have only had it for 2 years so I don't have any good stories of years of pounding its taken but I've had no problems with it....and have tilled about 25 acres with it in that time.

    Corn Planter

I have broadcast RR corn & beans for about the past 8 years with great success. I (as it sounds like you are) was more or less forced to start that way due to access to planing equipment...having done it that way I wouldn't switch back. I broadcast it with the 4-wheeler and then either lightly...

    When to plant apple trees

Now is a good time. I've planted fruit trees in the first 2 weeks of April the past 2 years with nearly 100% survivability. Good luck!
