Found 36 around one tree last night in East Tama County. Pretty dry and need rain.

I hunted in Central IA this weekend and as a whole I saw quite a few deer. The rut activity seemed pretty slow though. Trail cameras are still showing mostly night movement.

I live in Atkins, but I hunt just across the Tama line from Belle Plaine.

2nd sit and it was over. Shot him on the 30th in Tama County. Grunted him in and he made a scrape in front of me. 25 yd shot that took out both lungs. He went about 40yds and was done. Fun hunt but now it's time for the ducks and geese.
