What's up with this deer's leg?

No way a leg hold trap would get that high on the leg, and with Iowa requiring a deer stop on snares, I think it’s doubtful

Lawmakers want to rape our state HF2672

The republicans in this state are bought and paid for. They do not care about conservation or outdoorsmen

    Gideon Lee Walker

I dropped off a cinnamon roll and chocolate milk for Curtis today…he looked bad, and that’s saying something!

    Gideon Lee Walker

I’ll chime in for Curtis. I haven’t seen much for baby pics because Papa Ranger has been sicker then a dog, Influenza B if I remember correctly. I miss him at work, he’s generally a good source of comedy!

Prescribed Burn - Backpack Blower Recommendations

We have stihl blowers at work. I work on them and use them. They are great!!! I’d recommend the BR 800. They move a ton of air compared the the 600 or 700, I think close to 30% more. Also, the 800 has a chest buckle and a waist strap, which helps distribute the weight well and keeps it from...

    Trapping 2023-2024

Caught my first 2 beavs in the spring season this weekend. A 45 and 50 respectively. As you can see by the strained smile. Today was slow, but dispersal should start soon and it should pick up.

    Snow Geese

Why start a dick measuring contest? I think Curtis’s point was if you shoot them close you can get away with smaller loads. I personally think that shooting 3.5” whatevers at geese that are out of range, is an expensive, pointless, endeavor.

Looking for some southern Iowa spring turkey hunting information

I don’t want this thread to turn into a pissing match. I’ve hunted central Iowa public for many years. Had some great hunts and had some not so great. Since Covid, there’s been way more turkey hunting activity…still good hunting to be had, just have to do your homework, and not be afraid to walk.

    MINERAL TO PUT OUT NOW…

Whatever he does, I would do the opposite. The dude has a long history with game laws. He also sucks at prescribed burning. Lol

    Circle of life

I hunt in southern warren just north of the Lucas line. We were hit hard in 19, killed a stud buck in 22, but still aren’t seeing numbers of deer like we should. Decided late season to not shoot any does as deer numbers still seem down, that will probably be the strategy for this year as well.

Coyote trapping advice & NOT CATCHING DEER! Old dog learning to catch dogs

When I’ve trapped high deer density areas, I tried to make my sets in areas where it was less likely for deer to be at. Was not a perfect solution, still managed to have a few sprung by deer.

    Chainsaw Advice

Correct, I’m not making minor adjustments every time I run my saws. I just like the ability to tune the saw as needed. Whereas, the e carburetor saws require a trip to the dealer. Which basically kills the day of being productive
