PETA must be very proud of some so called hunters working so hard to keep other hunters from hunting their own land. A proud day indeed!

Careful how we talk about fellow hunters.

I dont have any real estate gains, outta iowa, thanks. Not a realtor either, assuming it is any of your business. More personal attacks failed, but you dont answer the question do you? Who has kept me off my own ground,.......and for what personal motives? Again, the topic was to warn hunters...

Careful how we talk about fellow hunters.

Maybe they draw for tags, maybe not. If they dont own the land they should be in a draw. There is a hunt offered for antelope 2008 on the front page that doesnt mention having to draw. Again, deny this, PETA NEVER KEPT ME FROM HUNTING MY OWN LAND...PETA NEVER KEPT MY CHILDREN OFF MY LAND, IBA...

Careful how we talk about fellow hunters.

The public is watching and the antihunters must love our apparant division....... Go to PETA.org and type in “sport hunting” in their website search engine. The first two paragraphs have this to say about hunters……… “Although it was a crucial part of humans’ survival 100,000 years ago, hunting...

    Bowhunters--FYI

The extremists whacos are organizing even better than ever. This group now has over $100,000,000.00 in their warchest to end hunting. They have expressed a desire to start with bowhunting. Read the artical from the NRA: http://www.freehunters.org/article.aspx?id=560

    My apologies.

Well said Zim. You know, the irony is almost laughable, except for the serious perpetual effects that are sure to follow. The irony is this, that a group that lobbies the legislature so hard to keep the NR landowner next door from hunting his own land, just so they can kill the buck next door...

If you hunt out of state, act now. Urgent

If i offered up a cause that would save the very sport of hunting, your lynch mob mentality would string it up. This is serious. States rights is mearly the disguise for legislation that is intent upon stripping you of your rights. You obviously have not thought this one out. All hunting rights...

If you hunt out of state, act now. Urgent

You can lose your right to hunt anywhere you are not a resident under a bill now in the senate and congress. As foolish as it may sound, this thing actually has considerable support. Here is a link to explain: http://www.conservationforce.org/info/get_hunter_art.cfm?art_id=101 If you ever...

    Osage Orange trees

Just scanning through, I didnt notice if anyone mentioned it but squirrel and deer eat these things. Squirrel love em, and deer will flock to them when they are hungry. I have seen it many, many times in Kansas. It may be less frequent in Iowa where other prefered food sources are so plentiful...

    Keeping things in perspective

Well said! We are all Americans here and are 99.9% on the same page. Like I said on the less friendly post when I was accused of being "rich", we are all "rich" if we have friends, family, faith in god, and all the other blessings we take for granted. Here is where the rubber meets the...

    Pending Hunting Legislation

"Resident, NR, IBA, annoying visitor", how does it always spin to here? I suspect Deerslayer wont respond to your comments because he probably cant........Just a guess. What did we accomplish here?

    Fellow Sportsman

OneCam, As a NR landowner, I strongly disagree with many posts on here. On the core issue, I agree that too many tags could jepordize the very reason we come to Iowa. Even though we often disagree, I RESPECT all the opinions offered up in a civil manner. I will suffice it to say a sincere THANK...

    Lets look at some numbers

Horst, you and I are divided on the NR landowner tag issue, and this may floor you, but I AGREE WITH YOU. I think deer population is a lame argument for increasing tags to NR's. We kill lots of does on our land. Even though we cant get a buck tag, we can get doe tags and we use them on does. The...

    Guaranteed NR Landowner Tag

Pharmer, Trper, you are exactly right, we are really running rabbits and its time to do something constructive. I will try to answer the question about land values in simple terms. Trper, you mention your land that was worth $700 and now may be worth $2000. Try to make this a yes or no answer...

How many acres have you lost?

Timberpig, every state in this country offers ALL the services you mention, roads, schools, and etc. AND all but one, has MORE public land than IOWA. Dont you agree that something is wrong with that??? I just as soon keep my money. I dont know if I would buy a tag for $1000 if it were offered. I...

    Guaranteed NR Landowner Tag

Pharmer....I think we are saying mostly the same thing. I will in fact sell it at the lowered price....THE MARKET WILL SEE TO IT. That is my point. I do feel that its maximum value is if I am free to hunt every year and as you say "tough". I cant do a thing about it. Im not fussing about the...

How many acres have you lost?

Fletch...I appreciate your opinions, and sympathize with your plight. Look no further than your Iowa legislature for someone to blame and someone who could help. Perhaps the organized groups like IBA should start a campaign to lobby the legislature for more public land. What have they squandered...

How many acres have you lost?

I gave back the rights to the landowner on 8000 acres. Someone else wanted it worse than I did. I have never "lost" any land. Ie, you cant lose what was never yours in the first place. Its like you loaning me your truck free of charge and I keep it and use it for five years. Just when I am...
