I have probably have enough left over for 1/2 acre; both the Betamix and Upbeet. I am located in Southern Wisconsin. I have given up on the sugar beets because the summers here have been too dry the last couple of years. They were awesome the when mother nature cooperated. Not sure how much...
In my opinion deer love sugar beets more than anything that I have ever planted. The problem with sugar beets is they are fairly expensive, don't like any competition from other vegetation or weeds; and if we experience another drought forget it they will not amount to nothing. That is from my...
That gun is very accurate out to 150 yards for sure. I was shooting 2" groups with some Lighfields. The gun is very heavy with that bull barrel that is the only drawback I have but with a good rest its lights out
I believe it is only available to producers of sugar and seed. NO PLOTTERS!! I also heard that the producers have a hard time getting seed. Alot of paper work and all seed must be accounted for before seeding and after. Crazy
Weeds are a big problem with spring planting but I like what the finish product of a spring planted crop (football size) does compared to a late summer planting. The bulbs if planted later in the summer will be less than half the size(about grapefruit size at best) of spring planted crop. A good...
Thanks Paul for posting and thanks for the compliments. The corn and beans are amazing this year. The corn has to be 8 feet tall now and is has just started tasseling. Hopefully the weather continues to stay warm and we get some rain every 4-5 days at least. I was just reading the Agri-View farm...
I have had it in my clover mix (ladino, jumbo ladino, alice, starfire) for the last 3 years and it is holding on pretty good. I spring planted it maybe mixed a little on the lighter side. Deer do eat it and has a cucumber like smell when you crush the leaf. Grows well on drier; sandier soils too.
Thanks for Posting this dbltree; this will be a first for me planting non round up ready sugar beets. But if they perform half as good as mine did last year I will still be happy:).
That is the case here for me here in Southern Wisconsin as well; I noticed that about 3 years ago when I started using bt corn; that deer left it alone more often. They would hit it at the silk stage but after that it was safe until the cold and snow hit.
I am going to give these 4010 field peas a test here in Southern Wisconsin;Last month I drove to Welters to pick up seed and that was one of my items on my list. If they are half as good as soybeans late season that will be dynamite.
Thanks for the feedback. The best price I found was in Dodgeville WI at the Farm and Fleet. $109.00 for 2-1/2 gallons.
That was last week today it was $129.00.
I am heading to Welters tomorrow morning to pick up some seed. I was wondering where a person can pick up a couple of 2-1/2 gallon jugs of 41% glyphosate at a fairly reasonable price on my way through Dubuque.
Thanks
I lost it on Dish network a month ago; was going to switch to Direct TV because they had it at the time. Found out today that MOR went bankrupt. NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
