I ended up getting one from sam at old barn. Sam and colton are very good to work with and would definitely suggest them to anyone else. Thanks for the offer TH!
Thanks for the help guys. TH I might be getting ahold of you again about that cape. I've gotten work done by this guy before. He just didn't have the right size cape on hand and is keeping his eyes open for another one. I'm just trying to speed along the process, this deer means alot to me. Not...
Deer head is at the taxidermist and the hair was slipping too much. Looking for a cape, the measurements he gave me were 7.5" nose to eye, 22" right behind the ears, and 25" four inches down. Shot in early November in western Iowa. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The other thread about this site being dead lately got me thinking about current fishing. Seems like a lot of people have been fishing rivers lately. I've only ever really fished lakes and ponds before so lets hear some tips for river fishing. Specifically walleyes or catfish, I'm open to any...
I like the versatility of the Lone Wolf with the climbing sticks, I haven't found a tree that I couldn't get to work yet. It seems like a lot of the trees in my area wouldn't work too well with a climber.
I'm almost starting to wonder if I could just put a cheap hang on up for my public land...
I usually pack in the alpha/sticks and hang and hunt in the afternoons, but in the morning I've always figured it was too loud and cumbersome trying to sneak in in the dark and hang a stand. Do you guys have a tree already picked out and trimmed that you pack in and hang on in the mornings? Or...
I'm starting to look for another set of climbing sticks. I have a bunch from Sportsman's Guide - the cheapos that reach 20 feet. They work fine, but they don't stack together whatsoever so they suck carrying a long way. I also have a set of River's Edge 15 ft sticks. I really like how they stack...
Once again not hunting, but it's outdoor related at least. We were floating a river just having a good time one summer when a friend just a little upstream from the rest of us said back to us "check it out!". By the time we got up to where he was on the river we didn't see much besides a few...
Was hunting public several years ago during the rut. Did a little rattling sequence and a little while later I heard something behind me. I slowly turned around to see a guy sneaking down the side of the hill with a bow in his hand and a climbing stand. I figured I'd let him walk on by so I had...
Just because someone is a NR doesn't mean you have to go to an outfitter, buy ground, or lease ground. I met a NR in a public land parking lot this year who was camping out for a couple weeks and hunting the public. Really nice guy, we helped each other out on where to hunt, what we've been...
I have never used the EZ hang hook that came with the stand. My understanding is that you have to take off the offset bracket that is on the stand in order to use the EZ hang hook? I like the idea of the EZ hang hook, but I don't want to lose the versatility of the offset bracket. The offset...
Just picked up a Baronnett Grounder 250 hub blind for 79.99. Original price was 129.99. I realize there's way better blinds out there, but if you're on a tight budget this blind seems like a pretty good deal. I've been wanting to get a hub blind for a while now to replace my old Ameristep blind...
