Just the fact that this thread is responded to so much shows that things are screwed up and need to be fixed. This should be a once in a while occurence but I've never hunted any property I had permission to hunt without someone trespassing. Thats 33 yrs hunting ducks ,geese, pheasants deer etc.
Just from conversations with other hunters at work and in the field I can't imagine more than 50% of the real deer kill is reported. I did not ask if any of these people actually reported their deer but irregardless most have bragged of taking twice as many as they are allowed so it really can't...

I guess there is a certain level of morality in my world that says the Intention of the laws is the most important factor.Just because the law allows doesn't make it right and I thought that is the reason why the DNR has more freedom to interpret the laws.
I'm definately in favor of getting rid...
Re: iowa DNR wants to raise hunting/fishing fees..
Willie,I don't think there is any true opposition to fee increases as much as the propect of the increases never ending.
IMO we know the DNR needs more resources to perform their functions as well as catch up on some we haven't been doing.But...
LOL.With all the crap the DNR tries to say about breaking rules etc. etc. and they let blatant B.S. like that go.
The DNR Hunter safety instructor was very, very specific in our class how they are free to interpret laws in the job moreso than any other law enforcement and things like that don't...

Ah the politics of life.It all boils down to who benefits from what and how much.Just look at all the different views posted by some of the self proclaimed "purists" in the sporting world. It can be spun however you'd like wrong is wrong and in your conscious you know what your doing period.Just...

Never implied it would be easy but its obvious its out of control and they need help.Help usually means more$$$ so maybe trepassing while hunting needs to become a game violation that gets your guns etc. confiscated and a nice big fine.
People, especially people with these ethics only respect...
I think the DNR needs to talk with the National Guard and set up a "training exercise" for shotgun season and post 20 people in every county.Five groups of four and they can freely enforce the laws that already exist and maybe get guys under control to some degree.
Its much easier for CO's to chase the simple violation here or there than actually attack the core problem.I don't think they get any benefit out of stopping trespassers and as scarce as they are its very unlikely they can respond to the volume with this many people in the field.
The DNR and the...
I think without a doubt most avid hunters would be ecstatic if simple registration would actually be a large step in reducing crime.I'll help them out myself if they could prove to me it will do anything.
No criminal I've ever heard of used a gun registered to himself.Maybe the occasional...
Thats why people have suggested that when deer are kept on a "refuge" they are property. And when that "Property" causes damage to other peoples property(cars) the owners are liable.
I can't decide either way, both sides can be argued effectively.
I can't get past the idea that I might just be...
Nice pile of BS.It never ceases to amaze me what political means people will go through to get your money.
Amazing how the NRA or anyone or any organization "knows" what is in other people's mind.Hey does Loenard Nimoy work for them?
If issues arise address the problem and let your voice be heard.
QDM=great idea.In Iowa no chance.Way to many crazies out there during gun seasons blasting everything in sight and breaking laws like crazy.Just not controllable or enforceable either.Sometimes I think IDNR could douoble their operating funds just by being out and enforcing laws and busting the...
