I couldnt get any rr beets so I planted fodder beets this year.Only a strip 9 ft by 350 ft.Thought it would make weed controle easier.I use stinger works fairly well however last year ended up with a sedge problem.So that plot ended up in brassicas.Hopefully the fodder beets canopy quicker also...

I dont clip it as i,ve noticed that the dying rye helps hold moisture during the heat of summer.The rye doesnt shade much because it is usually breaking down by then.

A client of mine has a big old clump she said i could have it is about 15 foot wide and very old.I didnt have time to dig it up this spring could i dig it up in sept.then transplant or should i wait for late winter again.Or could i do it now?I can probably water once a week.

I planted winter rye in the fall with the intention of disking it up as a green manure and planting sorghum and soys.Was wondering about the alleopathic effects it would have on the sourghum?Perhaps I should nuke it ahead of time?
