Ok... I'm prepping gun to take my father in law out. I bought the savage bolt action. Nothing crazy. Hornady black ammo.

Groups are so-so, but I don't know what to expect.

I shoot some super accurate custom guns so it's a mind shift for me. I dont claim to be the greatest but I can hold my own on the range.

What do you guys see out of your 450s as far as groups?

I have a ruger american .450 and 1.5 to 2in at 100 and 2 to 3 at 200.pic is 100 yrds. I shoot reg hornady ammo not the black . i was told the black is formulated for semi autos. Less preassure. Maybe try reg stuff? [IMG]

My buddy and I shoot the Metallica ammo out of our AR platforms, it is quite consistent. Like above I've heard the Metallica ammo is designed for semis.

I can put 5 shots through the same ragged hole at 100 yards- AR with a Bear Creek Arsenal barrel, Hornady Black factory ammo. My 225 grain reloads are slightly better, but I’d rather hunt with factory 250’s

So gun got much better on second box. Either first box of ammo had issue or barrel got better (long technical conversation with my gun builder about that).

This looks like 3 shots but is actually a 4 shot group at 100.
(I was happy with the group and a lil scope adjustment was blasting dead center)

Remington Accutip. 100 yards from a Ruger American bolt action.

    Looking good!
i got some top secret loads made from help of a special someone on here ;). My gun is built for high pressure rounds & Dialed in amazing (after destroying my broken safe ;) ). 4” high at 100. Dead on 200. About 12”-ish high at 300. Could do 350. I won’t shoot it past 300. Unique situation where doe killing machine is needed and that part is nice. 10 round magazine & great binos - big old does in trouble.
