Dad tagged one of the smallest bucks we've ever gone after on the farm. Four years of history with him since 2014. In 2015 this buck came in during the rut and bulldozed my decoy over and he earned the name "Dozer". I did pick up one of his sheds after a CRP burn that following spring. The following year we decided he was a shooter since he hadn't grown at all and we guessed him to be 4.5. We never could track him down. Dozer showed up again this year and we got our last trail cam picture of him on November 8th. Finally on January 2nd dad met him again and dropped him with his muzzleloader. At first glance anyone would see this as a small buck, likely a young one, but that's not the case. Pretty wild how this buck stayed so small all those years. He's as old as the three giants we've shot this year, just didn't have a big rack in his blood.

Dad's hunted hard this late muzzy season and passed on some much larger but younger bucks just waiting for the right one - he found him!

Pretty worn down teeth - nothing too crazy but definitely not the young buck that he appeared to be if someone didn't have all the prior history of him

Heck of a Coues deer. Congrats to your Dad. Amazing we can track these bucks with history through trail cams. Wouldn't even hesitate.
